...remove bandaging and wash your new tattoo with the hottest water and antibacterial soap. Pat dry with a clean paper towel and evenly apply a light layer (don't let it pool on the skin) of non-scented, non-medicated hand lotion (Lubriderm, Cetaphil, etc.). Repeat the previous steps before bed and avoid tight-fitting apparel.
Continue washing with hot water and antibacterial soap, followed by a light layer of non-scented non-medicated lotion, two to three times a day until the tattoo is completely healed. Do not soak or submerge your new tattoo (NO pools, hot tubs, bathtubs, dirty dishwater, etc.), pick, scratch, or tan your new tattoo.
By this point, you should be able to resume your everyday routines. Be mindful of your new tattoo, and use sun protection while enjoying outside activities.
